A Cambodian man walks out of a wood-plank brothel in the Toul Kork neighborhood of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on February 18, 2008. After dark, red lights turn on in this neighborhood as young women prepare to serve the sexual needs of the city. While international non governmental organizations and the media often focus on the transgressions of foreign sex tourists, the reality is Cambodians represent the bulk of the clients for brothels and sex workers. Places of business can be these ramshackle buildings, the upper floors of concrete apartment blocks, karaoke bars, girlie bars frequented by foreigners, gentlemen's clubs, "fish bowls" where women are numbered and on display, or simply the park benches near the Independence Monument where less than $10 US dollars will buy a trick.
