Srey Neth revisits her old home in the slum where her mother sold her to a pimp and the pimp sold her virginity. Located in the heart of Phnom Penh, only blocks from UN and NGO compounds, "The Building" is a well known residence for street prostitutes and other disadvantaged Cambodians. Now a staff person with Transitions Global, Srey Neth and two other Transitions residents work with partner agencies who provide education, shelter, and other resources for orphans and other children at The Building and at the Steung Meanchey landfill. Says program manager Isabelle Skaburski, Srey Neth is gaining confidence as a role model for children living as she once lived which is an important step in her transition from victim to survivor.
