WEDNESDAY JULY 26, 2006 - LOS ANGELES, CALIF. The flare facility at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill near Los Angeles in Orange County, Calif. where methane gas is burned straight into the atmosphere. A 5000 gallon per-day methane gas liquifying facility is being installed by Seattle-based Prometheus to liquify and sell the methane gas for transportation, heating, and industry. The gas is naturally produced by the landfill.
