ROCK SPRINGS, WY - Locals, including 'seasonal' gas field workers, dance at the Satellite to live country music in Rock Springs, Wy., on August 6, 2005. A boom in natural gas drilling and completion has brought an influx of workers, some of whom choose to move to local towns like Rock Springs or Pinedale, but many others are seasonal or contract employees who will do shifts that may be 20 days on and 10 days off during which they will return home to places like Oklahoma or Texas. Crew 187, a 'Special Services' team for Haliburton, dominated the night's crowd at the Satellite. Haliburton has committed a multi-million dollar services yard to Rock Springs from which it will support gas drilling operations in the western Rockies. Crew 187 is moved where ever Haliburton has an employee shortage so for the last year they have been boarded at the Rock Springs Holiday Inn as Haliburton's business has been booming in the area.
